‘goodbye old paint’ is a folk song my mother used to sing when i was a kid. now it is just one of the many things that add to the fog in my brain. this is all just a tribute to the fog. send me stuff here. “listen, there’s a hell of a universe next door. let’s go.” ~ e.e. cummings.

The third film adaptation of the Twilight series, Eclipse, will be helmed by horror director David Slade, who has made such movies as Hard Candy and Thirty Days of Night. Even though it will not hit theaters until June 2010, it is already being touted as “darker,” more action-packed, and more “guy friendly.” Because the popularity of the Twilight formula guarantees Eclipse will be a box-office smash, the decision to consciously appeal to boys seems more like a grab at credibility than at profit. Romance-loving Twi-Hards be damned! Who cares about disappointing a huge, passionate, lucrative fan base if they’re all a bunch of girls?

”

-
Girls Just Wanna Have Fangs | The American Prospect

I received a sincere, dizzying rush of relief for a week or so from Eckart Tolle’s “watching the thinker” philosophy, but inevitably, it’s now fading and I’m struggling to keep afloat. I’ve had all my creative wellsprings damned up, stifled, and I often find it hard to even think. This is both because of a physical handicap and the despondency it has started festering in me. I just read books and watch movies. It’s escapism, but it also gives me other things to think about than the pain in my hands, my dwindling bank account and the depression that comes with realizing you are trapped in a certain situation.

But hope flutters somewhere about. I’ve started looking at other living situations again, and talking to professionals about my options. If it all sounds vague and dark, that’s because it is. But I am the Wizard. “I just know that something good is gonna happen. I don’t know when, but just saying it could even make it happen.” - Kate Bush

Doctors Making Health Care Better

Doctors Making Health Care Better:
This is quietly fantastic. Wish it would get louder.

via www.codinghorror.com

via www.codinghorror.com

First LSU football game and we won! :) Discovered tailgating...

First LSU football game and we won! :) Discovered tailgating is a lot of fun, haha.

Photo

Art Brut show at The Spanish Moon in Baton Rouge! Lot of fun. ...

Art Brut show at The Spanish Moon in Baton Rouge! Lot of fun. Very small but enthusiastic crowd. Two cocktails and a beer there = $15. Wow.

Photo

Photo

“Too-Cute-For-Words”

“Too-Cute-For-Words” :
Big goofy smile on my face.

via www.inspirationline.com

Lord Byron and his young physician John Polidori were staying at the Villa Diodati by Lake Geneva and were visited by Percy Bysshe Shelley, Mary Shelley and Claire Clairmont. Kept indoors by the “incessant rain” of that “wet, ungenial summer”,[3] over three days in June the five turned to telling fantastical stories, and then writing their own. Fueled by ghost stories such as the Fantasmagoriana, William Beckford’s Vathek and quantities of laudanum, Mary Shelley produced what would become Frankenstein, or The Modern Prometheus. Polidori was inspired by a fragmentary story of Byron’s and in “two or three idle mornings” produced “The Vampyre”.”

-
The Vampyre - Wikipedia, the free encyclopedia
